For All You Struggling Traders

This a great article, read and fully understand...

Documenting the data of your trading is essential to success. Also, it's of vital importance to track not only the "mechanical" data; i.e., the data of the actual trading execution (entry, targets, stops and exits); but you must track the "internal" data as well; i.e., what you are thinking, emotionally feeling, and the unconscious beliefs that are driving the T + E + B = R equation. In this equation that is involved in "all" of our outcomes, T = thought, E = emotions, B = behavior and R = results. So, you've got to attend to the data of this equation because it is involved with every trading decision that you make.

Most Forex Brokers Are ....

Well, I don't know the answer, which is why I'm asking. Do most/some/a few/no brokers actually manipulate the price so that you get stopped? My success has been in the currency futures, and I have opened an account for Forex to see if this arena will be better or worse. BUT, I have always been told to get a sound broker, which makes me laugh. I always pictures those poor guys in their cubiles doing anything for a buck and they think they are the cat's ass. I picked an off the wall broker for my futures and everything has been just fine for quite a few years. Anyway, if I just threw a dart at a board full of brokers, all with similar margins, how can I get fvcked? I don't know the answer.

Currency Trading and News Question

I have a system that is geared to the release of market moving news. After I just got crushed on today's employment report (thought I could get a least a 50 point drop in the euro), I realized something that maybe others have encountered. My data shows that my win percentage is the worst for the US news releases, actually so bad that I will now take a break on the US news. When I trade any other currency I simply trade it against the dollar. Works fine. When the US news is released, I now have a choice amongst all other currencies. Obviously not all the currencies react the same, so in this scenario may data has shown that some would win in my system and some would lose. It doesn't matter if the markets are open or closed.

Most Accurate Forex Econ. Calendar?

I've been using dailyfx.com but I am getting more and more unhappy with the accuracy of its schedule. News releases unexpectedly change times or even days. I wake up at 4:00 only to find the news was at 3:00. I trade one of my accounts with another person, and he is getting pissed since i am missing trades, as I am the night shift. So, is there a comprehensive calendar out there that I can print off on Friday for the following week and won't have to constantly check for changes? Even just the prior day would work too. I would think that the majority of releases never change times, but I may be wrong.

VWAP On Forex

Below I Have Included some Screen shots of My Tradestation VWAP_syn indicator that will work on FORX or any Market that does not report Volume. Yet it can be used on Markets That do report volume as well.

Is anyone using VWAP to Trade Forex?

Forex Vs Currency Futures - System Question

I have been trading currency futures profitably for some time, and now want to move to the Forex, at least I think. Got a demo the other day, but haven't set it up yet. My question is that if I have a system that works with currency futures, will it likely work the same with Forex? Has anyone experienced this situation? Thank for the help.

Forex Hedge Fund EA

I have been trading Forex Hedge Fund EA on two live accounts with Alpari UK since the beginning of Novemeber. One small account with aggressive settings and a larger account with moderate settings. I only use pairs like on EURUSD, USDJPY and EURJPY.

On average the small, aggressive settings, account grew at a rate of 40% a week (multiplication by 1.40 each week!) and the account with the moderate settings at a rate of 18% per week!

Only once a trade did hit stoploss. 90% of the trades have been closed profitable so far.

Expensive Regulation Proposed for FX

The CFTC is trying to reduce Forex leverage to 10 to 1 for all US Forex traders. This means that if you now have 100 to 1 leverage you will have to increase your deposits 10 times to trade the same amount of currency. The act is open for comment, I hope it can be stopped. Here is a link describing other details. Sorry, it has a pop up you have to close to view the article, it was one of the best write ups.

Meta Trader Data Delays

Hi, hope to save somebody some money. I have CMS forex free charting for Meta trader and VT Trading Systems. During fast moving markets the Meta trader delays and drops live data, also back fill data, sometimes skewing indicators. VT keeps up much better. I like the older VT trader version 2.0. it crashes less.
I posted some forex trading ideas on the technical trading forum. Also I programmed some alerts for moving average envelope bands for VT or Quote tracker, posted on the coding forum.
